The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Overeem darts in looking for a takedown but Lightning gets double underhooks and turns Overeem into the cage.
Lightning scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Lightning pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Lightning sizes up Overeem with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

It looks like Alistair Overeem has been cut.

Lightning clobbers Overeem with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Overeem on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Lightning closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Overeem! Lightning dives in looking to finish! Overeem is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
