PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kostya Tszyu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Young (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Tszyu might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Badstreet Atlanta Ga. Young has chosen Dont Sweat The Technique as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Young!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tszyu misses with a series of wild punches.
Young slips a jab from Tszyu.
Young fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Young shoots for a double leg takedown but Tszyu sprawls well. He's pushed Young's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Young misses with a leg kick.
Nice takedown defense from Tszyu. No joy for Young on that attempt.
Kostya Tszyu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Young.
Young misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Tszyu looks to throw the jab but Young is out of range.
Young tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Tszyu paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Young slips a straight right by Tszyu.

Young misses with a few strikes there.
Tszyu throws a right and a left that Young avoids nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Young misses with a jab, cross combination.
Tszyu misses with a wild combination.
Kostya Tszyu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Tszyu waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Young.
Danga de danga de dang - Young scores with a four punch combination!

That's one minute gone in the round.

Young fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Tszyu, pushing him back against the cage.
Tszyu can't break the clinch.
Young wants a takedown but no success here.

Tszyu escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Young ducks under a wild hook from Tszyu.
Tszyu swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Young counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Young dodges the punch combination from Tszyu.
Tszyu drops Young with a right and a left! Tszyu comes rushing in but Young regains his composure and manages to keep Tszyu in guard.

Young is rocked!
Tszyu loads up on a big left hand. Young felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Tszyu looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Young can't hide his disappointment, as Tszyu celebrates the victory.
