The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Diaz has taken the fight to the clinch.

Thibodeaux breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
No joy there for Thibodeaux , who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Diaz looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Diaz looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Thibodeaux is fending him off so far but Diaz persists. Nope, Thibodeaux circles away and we're back to standing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Thibodeaux breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Diaz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Thibodeaux tries to avoid it but Diaz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Thibodeaux to the ground. Thibodeaux escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Thibodeaux wants to control the pace but Diaz is squirming around nicely.
Diaz is desperately trying to improve his position but Thibodeaux has a good base and remains in mount.

Thibodeaux might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Diaz kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Thibodeaux really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Diaz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Despite being in the dominant position, Rad Thibodeaux just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Diaz takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
