Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Quiet Monkey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorgip Wallrium (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Monkey comes to the cage accompanied by Epic - Faith No More. Jorgip Wallrium has the eye of the tiger tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monkey takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Wallrium tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Monkey counters with a nice double leg into side control. Wallrium won't be happy with that.
Wallrium wants to get back to his feet.
Wallrium is trying to control Monkey's posture but Monkey avoids it.
Monkey has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Wallrium!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wallrium is looking to get to half guard.
Wallrium is squirming around, avoiding Monkey's attempts to control the action.
Wallrium wants to hold on but Monkey pushes him away.

Monkey is looking to work his way around to Wallrium's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

Monkey jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Wallrium is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Wallrium and Monkey has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Wallrium wants to control but Monkey postures up.

Wallrium gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Monkey tries to control but Wallrium wriggling away.

Monkey looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Wallrium wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Monkey.
BOOM! Monkey connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Wallrium is squirming around, avoiding Monkey's attempts to control the action.
Wallrium tries to hold on but Monkey postures up.

Monkey prevents Wallrium from getting the reversal.

Monkey sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Wallrium told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Wallrium is squirming around, avoiding Monkey's attempts to control the action.
Monkey misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Monkey can't control as he wanted to and Wallrium manages to get the fight back to his half guard.

Monkey has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Monkey is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Monkey passes the guard and advances to mount!

Wallrium wants to try and get back to his feet.
Monkey content just to control the position here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Wallrium wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Quiet Monkey dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Monkey takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
An inside leg kick lands from Wallrium.
Wallrium tries to clinch up but Monkey circles away and keeps his distance.
We've been told by Monkey's head coaches at Synergy Fight Team that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Wallrium throws a sloppy head kick and Monkey moves out of range easily.
Wallrium wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Monkey swinging wildly here.
Monkey walks into a straight right hand from Wallrium.
Jorgip Wallrium seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Wallrium stuffs the takedown.
Monkey blocks a head kick by Wallrium.
Wallrium doesn't manage to clinch there - Monkey circles away.
Wallrium is looking to clinch.
Monkey tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Wallrium defends well and Monkey ends up having to push Wallrium into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Wallrium lands a damaging elbow.

It looks like Quiet Monkey has been cut.

Monkey drops down looking for an ankle pick but Wallrium pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Quiet Monkey. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Monkey will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Wallrium lands a big head kick that sends Monkey tumbling to the mat! Wallrium takes a step backwards and waves Monkey back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Wallrium tries to clinch up but Monkey circles away and keeps his distance.

Wallrium feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Monkey sprawling to the canvas! Monkey rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Wallrium finish him?!

Monkey is rocked!
Wallrium dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Oh Monkey is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wallrium throws a right and a left that both miss.
A head kick misses from Wallrium.
Monkey seems to have got his legs back now.
Wallrium throws a quick head kick that knocks Monkey silly! This fight is all over! What a finish! Wallrium is up on the cage, taking in the applause from the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Jorgip Wallrium!
Jorgip Wallrium very nearly forgot to thank Backyard Fighting amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
