These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spanket misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Payette dodges the punch combination from Spanket.
Spanket fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Payette has a takedown stuffed.
Scott Spanket seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Spanket misses with a few strikes there.
Payette slips a jab and a cross from Spanket.
Payette avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Payette closes the distance and clinches up with Spanket, looking for a takedown. Payette pushes Spanket against the cage but Spanket circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A punch lands to the side of Payette 's head but he takes it in his stride.

It looks like Charles Payette has been cut.
Spanket drops Payette with a beautiful combination! Payette stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Spanket is looking for the KO!

Oh Payette is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Spanket misses with a wild combination.
Payette really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Spanket will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Spanket walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Payette drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Spanket swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Payette 's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
