Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Contras bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Perez's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Perez is looking to reverse the position.
Perez tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.

Contras gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Contras decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Perez is looking for a triangle but Contras pushes his legs off easily.

Perez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Contras can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Perez has his foot on Contras's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Contras works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Contras stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Perez to get to his feet.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Perez throws a combination that misses

and Contras holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Perez misses with a hook from the clinch.
Perez tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Contras just stands there and leans against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Orion Contras will probably get the nod.

Perez throws a right hand that Contras ducks under and follows up with a left that Contras also avoids with ease.

Contras decides to stand back up. Contras steps back and let's Perez get back to his feet.

Contras decides to stand and escape the position.
Perez leaves Contras with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Contras swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Contras shoots in for a takedown but Perez shows good takedown defense.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Contras decides to stand and escape the position.
Perez throws a lazy right hand but Contras sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Perez smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Contras closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Contras lands in his opponent's guard.

Contras is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Perez has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Contras is looking to defend but Perez has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Contras! Perez pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Contras taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:23 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Richard Perez!
Richard Perez was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
