Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randall Flagg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Bill Monroe & The Bluegrass Boys - Southern Flavor. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flagg connects with a body shot that sends Smith's belly button to the back.
Flagg catches Smith with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Flagg stuffs the takedown attempt from Smith. Smith gets slowly back to his feet.
Smith has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Flagg scores with a punch to the head.
Flagg fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Flagg misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Smith dives in and grabs Flagg's left leg, looking for a takedown. Flagg pushes down on Smith's head and hops out.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Smith is defended easily by Flagg.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Smith dives in and scores a takedown into Flagg's guard.

Smith seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Flagg for as long as he can get away with.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Flagg lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Flagg lands with a good body shot.

Smith moves forwards but Flagg connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Smith tries to score a power double leg takedown but Flagg sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Smith somewhat.
John Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice takedown defense from Flagg. No joy for Smith on that attempt.
Smith shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Flagg defends it nicely.
Flagg connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Flagg connects with a jab.
Smith looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Flagg takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Flagg is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Smith had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Smith fails with a takedown attempt.
Flagg looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Flagg lands with a nice body punch.
Smith fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Flagg connects with a good right hand that stumbles Smith. Smith circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Flagg gets a clinch.

Flagg lands a shot to the body.
Smith is breathing heavily.
Flagg is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Flagg gets through Smith's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Flagg working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Flagg lands a shoulder strike.
Smith has Flagg pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Flagg manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Flagg stalling.
Smith tries for a takedown but Flagg manages to get underhooks.
Flagg gets underhooks to prevent Smith's takedown attempt.
Flagg lands an uppercut.
Flagg breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Flagg has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Flagg lands a left and a right that send Smith crashing to the mat, dazed. Flagg thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Smith is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Flagg slaps away a takedown attempt from Smith, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Oh Smith is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Smith circles away from the clinch attempt.
Smith seems to have got his legs back now.
Flagg cracks Smith with a good jab.
Smith shoots in looking for a takedown. Flagg tries to sprawl out of it but Smith keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Flagg manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
The fighters circle momentarily. Flagg darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Smith shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Flagg defends it nicely.
A decent looking cross lands there for Flagg.
Jab by Flagg.
Flagg has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Flagg drops Smith with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Smith! Flagg dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Randall Flagg!
