Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kin Sackett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pete Gordon!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Marco Blurström and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gordon stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gordon wants it to stay on the feet.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Gordon has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Sackett shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Gordon defends it nicely.

Sackett has managed to clinch.

Sackett escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Gordon has eaten all the pies!
Sackett landing knees to the head.


It looks like Pete Gordon has been cut.
Gordon gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Sackett.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kin Sackett. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sackett is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Sackett has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Gordon after a bit of a struggle.

Sackett gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Gordon regains guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Sackett drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sackett jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Sackett trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sackett seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Sackett gets to his feet. Gordon looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Sackett fails to land the takedown.

Sackett clinches up against the cage.
Gordon takes an elbow to the temple.
A knee to the head by Sackett.

Sackett breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Sackett fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Gordon shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Sackett manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sackett avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Sackett has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Gordon should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Sackett has tightened it up now! Gordon should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Kin Sackett!
