The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Leandro Rodrigues and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Decent striking displayed by Brand there.
Brand connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Brand throws a head kick that Sherman semi-blocks.
Brand throws a sloppy head kick and Sherman moves out of range easily.
Sherman takes a kick to the side of the head.
No joy there for Brand, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Brand tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Sherman manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Brand fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Brand misses with a head kick.
Brand is looking to clinch.

Brand throws a right hand that Sherman ducks under and follows up with a left that Sherman also avoids with ease.
Sherman misses with a low kick.
Brand misses with a two punch combination.
Brand wants to clinch.
Brand tries to bum rush Sherman with a series of wild strikes but Sherman uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Brand moves out of range of the leg kick from Sherman.

Brand tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Brand scores with a one two! Sherman had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Sherman fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Brand.
Brand shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sherman wants to slow Brand down by chopping away at his legs.
Sherman throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
A decent looking cross lands there for Sherman.
Brand checks the leg kick.
Brand moves out of range of the strikes.
Brand throws a right and a left that both miss.
Sherman circles away from the clinch attempt

and Sherman decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Brand's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sherman accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Sherman slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Brand preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Sherman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Sherman throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Sherman in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Brand tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Sherman!
