Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Albert Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mateusz Ciechan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ward wants to clinch.
Albert Ward seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ward tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Ciechan's elbow.
Ward really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Ward tries to stall but Ciechan uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Ciechan has Ward pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Ciechan pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Ward tumbling to the mat - Ciechan dives into Ward's guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Ward tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Ciechan's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ciechan passes into half guard.
Ciechan is taking a breather. Ward says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Ciechan is pressing down on Ward's thigh, looking to free his foot. Ward is holding on for now.

Ciechan is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Ward is trying to stand.

Ciechan is working for a kimura but Ward is defending it quite comfortably.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Ciechan in particular looking to stall.
Ciechan wants to pass the guard but Ward is defending well.

Ciechan is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ward doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ciechan.

Ward wants to improve his position but Ciechan is controlling well.

Let's hope that Ciechan has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Ward is looking for a sweep. Ciechan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Mateusz Ciechan has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Ciechan keeps the fight on the outside.
Ward tries to clinch but Ciechan moves out of range.

Ciechan is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Ciechan drives through with a takedown into Ward's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Ciechan closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ward to the mat! Ward manages to get full guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ciechan takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
You get the feeling that Ward really doesn't like being in this position too much.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Ciechan's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
