PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gus Rojas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan Roc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rojas comes to the cage accompanied by "Face-Fisted" by Dethklok. Roc has chosen Pantera - I'm Broken as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gus Rojas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Juan Roc!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roc shoots in for a double leg but Rojas sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Roc doesn't manage to clinch there - Rojas circles away.
Roc shoots in looking for a takedown. Rojas tries to sprawl out of it but Roc keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rojas manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Rojas tries to close the distance and clinch up but Roc swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Rojas lands a head kick. Roc smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Roc throws a nice looking combination but Rojas bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Rojas swings and misses with a hook to the body.
The fight stays on the outside here - Rojas looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Rojas tries to clinch but Roc moves out of range.

Roc scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Rojas is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Roc's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Roc's back!

Rojas scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Roc is looking for a way out.
Rojas has the hooks in. Roc is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Roc is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Rojas.

Rojas rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Roc moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Roc changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rojas tries to avoid it but Roc manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rojas to the ground. Rojas escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Roc lands a left hand that snaps the head of Rojas backwards.

Roc wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Roc is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Rojas gets caught flat footed, as Roc shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Roc has his foot on Rojas's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rojas works his way back into a safe position though.

Roc is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Rojas is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Roc has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Rocis looking to pass into half guard but Rojas pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Rojas is in guard.

Juan Roc comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Roc has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
