Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Xiao Long Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Woods (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Li might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Dragon Punch!. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woods tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Li paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Li keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
We've been hearing reports that Li has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Li throws a right and a left that Woods avoids nicely.
Li throws the left hand but Woods avoids the punch easily.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Woods checks a leg kick.
Li fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Woods manages to avoid it.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Li stops a takedown attempt from Woods.

Li will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Woods up against the cage.
Woods is trying to break the clinch but Li has him pressed against the cage.

Li avoids a wild elbow strike from Woods.

Woods shoots in but no luck this time.
Li lands a head shot.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Li lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Woods has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Woods and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Woods takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Woods shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Li throws a leg kick but Woods moved away.

Woods goes for a double leg but Li avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Li continues to drive forward.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

and Li counters with a big head kick but Woods shrugs it off.
Woods on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Woods uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Li.
Li misses with a leg kick.

Li tried to score with a low kick but Woods checks it.

Woods walks into a stiff left hand from Li.
Li fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

Woods fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

and Woods decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Li's guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Woods stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Li swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Li is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Woods working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Woods wants to control from the top but Li keeps moving.
Woods is looking to advance position but Li has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Woods lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Li avoids a strike by Woods and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Woods's guard! Fantastic escape!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Li accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Li throws a chopping leg kick but Woods manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Li thows a body shot but no joy.
Li is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Li tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Woods is able to avoid easily.
Woods shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Li manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Woods stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Li swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Woods drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Li manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Woods has Li in his guard.
