Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ricardo Santiago!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jason Eckstein!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Radbod Blank and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santiago takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Santiago has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Castordam in the buildup to the fight.
A head kick misses from Santiago.
Eckstein has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Santiago is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Eckstein throws a body punch but Santiago moves out of range.

and Eckstein cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Eckstein blocks the body kick.
Jason Eckstein seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Eckstein connects with a looping right hand.
Eckstein tried to score with a low kick but Santiago checks it.
Santiago lands with an overhand left.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Eckstein tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
No joy there for Eckstein, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Santiago swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Santiago throws a hook to the side of Eckstein's head but Eckstein sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Eckstein throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Santiago uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Eckstein.

Eckstein connects with a solid leg kick.
Santiago throws a poor cross that misses
and Santiago takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Santiago throws a right hand that misses
and Eckstein counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Eckstein staying out of range there.
Eckstein moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Eckstein throws a leg kick which misses Santiago's front leg but catches the back leg as Santiago tries to avoid it.
Eckstein fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Eckstein throws a quick inside leg kick.
Santiago is breathing heavily.
Eckstein lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Eckstein buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Eckstein connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Santiago's hands.
The fighters circle momentarily. Eckstein darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Eckstein tries to score with a low kick but Santiago moves his leg out of the way.
Santiago takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Eckstein misses with a jab, cross combination.
Eckstein wants to land a leg kick but Santiago is out of range.
Santiago throws an overhand right that lands on Eckstein's shoulder, as Eckstein tries to avoid the shot.
Eckstein looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Eckstein throws a body punch but Santiago moves out of range.

Eckstein connects with a beautiful left hand that drops Santiago onto his butt! Santiago bounces straight back up though - he's OK. After the ref checks him out, we're back to the action.
Eckstein avoids a kick to the body.

Eckstein looks to throw the jab but Santiago is out of range.
Santiago is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Eckstein attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Eckstein throws a leg kick but Santiago moved away.

Eckstein shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
A jab from Eckstein does it's job there.
Eckstein tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Santiago was well out of range. Poor timing from Eckstein.
Eckstein throws a right hand that Santiago ducks under and follows up with a left that Santiago also avoids with ease.
Eckstein connects with a nice looking jab.


Santiago is rocked!
A slapping leg kick lands for Eckstein.
Oh Santiago is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Eckstein knocks out Santiago with a massive right hand! The ref tackles Eckstein before he can follow up with any more strikes and that's it everyone. Eckstein picks up the big W with a huge KO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jason Eckstein!
Jason Eckstein bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
