The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kot misses with the combination.
Volkov tries to clinch there but Kot circles away.
Kot swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Volkov.
Kot rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Volkov moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Kot lands the left hand.
Volkov walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Volkov changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kot looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Kot on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Volkov works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Kot prevents Volkov from improving position.
Kot tries to escape but Volkov is in control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kot can do anything to dispel that myth.

Volkov postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Volkov is trying to get an arm triangle but Kot is defending well.

Kot is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Volkov's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Volkov! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Kot has tapped! This one is allllll over!
