The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Saam Ante and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simpson ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Calaway blocks the body kick.
Simpson has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Calaway is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Simpson throws a body kick that misses.
Calaway looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Calaway fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Simpson, pushing him back against the cage.
Calaway lands a body shot.
Calaway managing to block the knees to the body from Simpson.
Simpson comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Calaway drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Simpson gets the underhooks and prevents it.

I was talking to Calaway's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Calaway misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Calaway tries a body shot but Simpson blocks it.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Calaway.
Calaway lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Simpson pushes off an throws an elbow but Calaway leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Calaway dodges an elbow strike from Simpson.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Simpson.

Simpson lands an elbow that stopped Calaway in his tracks for a moment.
It looks like Urijah Calaway has been cut.

Calaway lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Calaway blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Calaway fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Calaway digs a right hand into Simpson's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Simpson's gas tank.
Calaway pushes Simpson back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Simpson is rocked!
Calaway creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Simpson with a big uppercut! Simpson tries to clinch up but Calaway pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Simpson to the mat! Simpson covers up and Calaway unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Urijah Calaway!
