Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jean Claude Van Damme (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Staller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Van Damme comes to the cage accompanied by Boom! Shake The Room . Patrick Staller has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jean Claude Van Damme!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Patrick Staller!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Staller shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Van Damme counters with an inside leg kick.
Staller shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Van Damme defends it nicely.
Staller changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Van Damme tries to avoid it but Staller manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Van Damme to the ground. Van Damme escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Jean Claude Van Damme has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patrick Staller.
Van Damme goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Staller shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Van Damme moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Good leg kick by Van Damme there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Staller decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Staller thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Staller wants to pass to mount but Van Damme is defending the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Staller is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Van Damme sees it coming and defends easily.

Staller is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Van Damme is just riding it out for now. Staller eventually gives up the hold.
Staller is thwarting Van Damme's attempts to control the position.
Staller works his way into full mount!
Van Damme is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Van Damme knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Staller on the ground.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Van Damme wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Van Damme is in all sorts of trouble here.
Staller pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Staller lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Van Damme hang on?


It looks like Jean Claude Van Damme has been cut.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Staller looking to finish Van Damme with some ground and pound. This is bad for Van Damme!
Staller landing strikes from the mount.

Staller goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Van Damme turns into him and now he's in Staller's guard.
Staller controls Van Damme momentarily but Van Damme frees himself.

Staller working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Van Damme has passed into half guard!
Staller won't allow Van Damme to pass to mount.
Staller is trying to control but can't.
Staller won't allow Van Damme to pass to mount.

Van Damme stands up from half guard.
Staller's coach down at Machine Shop Training Center was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Staller's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Patrick Staller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Staller fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Van Damme works the jab nicely.
Van Damme tries to close the distance and clinch up but Staller swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Van Damme tests Staller's chin there with a solid looking shot.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Staller fails with a takedown attempt.
Van Damme is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Staller is defended easily by Van Damme.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Patrick Staller will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Jean Claude Van Damme's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Staller fails with a takedown attempt.
Van Damme lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Van Damme defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Staller.
Van Damme displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Staller.
Jean Claude Van Damme has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patrick Staller.
Van Damme circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Staller drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Van Damme follows Staller to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jean Claude Van Damme!
An out of breath Jean Claude Van Damme thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
