The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Boy.
Johnny Boy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kodama. Boy does a little dance to reset his feet.
Kodama looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Boy looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Kodama moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Kodama might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Boy drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Boy jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Kodama is trying to control the position but Boy postures up.
Kodama manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kodama fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Kodama has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Oooooh, big shot lands for Kodama! Boy is hurt baaadly! Kodama is firing away with more strikes - Boy is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
