Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jon Elliott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Andy McCallum!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCallum lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Andy McCallum seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Elliott feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
McCallum working a defensive guard here.
Our spies down at at Team Listerman inform us that McCallum has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Elliott stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McCallum swivels though and keeps the full guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Elliott fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Elliott checks a low kick from McCallum.
McCallum cracks Elliott with an open hand slap.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
McCallum tries to score with a low kick but Elliott moves his leg out of the way.
Elliott takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
McCallum shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Elliott pinned against the cage. Elliott gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
McCallum lands with a right hand.
Elliott shoots in for a takedown but McCallum shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jon Elliott. That's going to take a lot out of him.
McCallum looks to land a left hand but Elliott moved out of range nicely.

McCallum gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

We've been hearing that Elliott has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
McCallum digs a good body shot into Elliott's ribs.
Elliott tries to close the distance and clinch but McCallum swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Elliott doesn't succeed with the takedown

and McCallum counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
McCallum is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



McCallum shoots in and bounces Elliott off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
McCallum postures up.
Elliott wants to sweep here but McCallum controlling him for the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jon Elliott just wasn't active enough.

Elliott bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

OK we're going to have a standup here. Andy McCallum hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Andy McCallum showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

McCallum slaps away a takedown attempt from Elliott, before circling back to the center of the mat.

McCallum bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
McCallum wants to lay and pray for a moment but Elliott keeps working.
Elliott is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on McCallum's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

McCallum is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

McCallum can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Elliott is looking to escape.
Elliott wants to hold on but McCallum pushes him away.

McCallum lands a heavy elbow.
McCallum throws some wild stikes that Elliott manages to avoid easily.

Elliott is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but McCallum pulls his head out easily.

McCallum throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Elliott to regain full guard.

McCallum drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Elliott dives on top into guard.

The fighters circle momentarily. McCallum darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Andy McCallum comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well McCallum has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
