Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cody Collins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake William (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cody Collins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake William!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
William is looking to clinch.
A chopping leg kick lands by Collins.
William pulls out of a head kick attempt.
William throws a body kick, spinning off balance

and Collins counters by clinching up.
William keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Collins's efforts to push away.

Collins's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
No luck with that takedown attempt from William.
Collins looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
William fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Collins lands with an uppercut that bounces William off the cage and back into range.
William tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
No joy there for Collins, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Collins darts in looking for a takedown but William gets double underhooks and turns Collins into the cage.

Collins jumps into guard, dragging William to the mat.

William decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Collins, up you get!
Collins tries a head kick but it misses.
Collins digs a good body shot into William's ribs.
Collins misses with a two punch combination.
William will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Cody Collins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake William.
William looks winded!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Collins has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. William is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Collins tries to break the clinch but William is controlling the position.

Collins drags the fight down to the ground.
Collins is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
William looking to sit in guard and control but Collins gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
William keeping moving, preventing Collins from controlling successfully.
Collins in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Collins's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Collins trying to control the position from guard on top but William is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if William can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Cody Collins.
Collins fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Collins fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches William on the side of the head.
Collins looks to land a body kick but William moved away.
William tries to clinch there but Collins circles away.
No luck for Collins with that takedown attempt.

and William counters with a takedown into side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
William wants to control but Collins is keeping him busy.
Collins regains half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
William performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
William trying to mount his opponent but Collins defends it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Collins's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Collins dives in for a single leg takedown but William sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Collins looking to stall.
William has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Collins after a bit of a struggle.
Collins is trying to push William away but William has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
A frustrated look appears on William's face as he tries to break the clinch.
William trying to control the position but instead, Collins has worked for underhooks and has pushed William into the cage.
Collins wants to break free but William has control.
Stalling in the clinch from William.

Collins lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

William manages to break the clinch.
William shoots in and drives through. Collins sprawls well.
Collins with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
William is breathing heavily.
Collins turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Collins shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. William manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Collins stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. William swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Collins pushing down on William's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Collins thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed William's head.
William really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Collins. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Collins wants to lay and pray for a moment but William keeps working.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Collins is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because William is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Collins seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Collins is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. William doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Collins.
William is looking to improve his position.

Collins is looking for a kimura but William is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Collins to get the leverage.
Collins wants to control but William is keeping him busy.

Collins is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, William has managed to free his arm - good work.
Collins wants to free his trapped foot but William is holding on for dear life with his legs.
William holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Collins is trying to control. William wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
William wants to get back to full guard.
William manages to get to full guard.
Collins trying to control but William is working from the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cody Collins dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Collins shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has William pinned against the cage. William gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
William shoots in looking for a takedown but Collins manages to keep the fight standing, pushing William's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Collins closes the distance and clinches up with William, looking for a takedown. Collins pushes William against the cage but William circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Collins dives in for a single leg takedown but William sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cody Collins. That's going to take a lot out of him.
William has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Collins avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Collins fails to pull guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
William is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Collins to keep the fight standing.

Collins's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Collins has closed the distance and engaged William in a clinch.

William prevents the takedown attempt.

William escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Collins bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

William looking for a sweep but Collins has passed into full mount! Oh no!
William tries to hold on but Collins postures up.

Collins moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, William has worked his arm free - good work by William!

The ground and pound from Collins seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
William gets back to half guard.
William is refusing to be controlled, as Collins sits in half guard.
William wants to improve his position but Collins is controlling well.
Collins is looking to take a break and control but William is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Collins uses his free foot to push down on William's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for William.
William is desperately trying to improve his position but Collins has a good base and remains in mount.
William wants to control but Collins is having none of it.
William might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Collins haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Collins goes for an armbar but he's not got it… William turns into him and now he's in Collins's guard.

Collins wants to control the position but William says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
William is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
William prevents Collins from improving his position.
Jake William has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Cody Collins is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Collins wants to control but William passes into side.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Cody Collins.
Well Collins has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
