The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice combination there by Abbot.
Nuke closes the distance and clinches up with Abbot, looking for a takedown. Nuke pushes Abbot against the cage but Abbot circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Abbot lands a glancing blow to the side of Nuke's head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Abbot fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Nuke looking to score a takedown here. Abbot is defending well but Nuke drives through and ends up in Abbot's guard.

Nuke looking to sit in guard and control but Abbot gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Nuke had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Abbot defends it easily.

Abbot drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Abbot jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Nuke looking for a guillotine here but Abbot defends easily.

Abbot wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nuke keeps working.
Nuke really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Abbot. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Nuke tries to bench press Abbot off him but Abbot keeps the position.

Abbot is trying to get an arm triangle but Nuke is defending well.
Nuke is not content to let Abbot control the position.

Nuke is looking to regain half guard here but Abbot keeps moving and retains side control.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Nuke is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Nuke is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Abbot is controlling him well.

Nuke wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Abbot has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Nuke's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Nuke is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Abbot!

Tony Abbot decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
