Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eraser Heads (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rhys Davies (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rhys Davies!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davies tries to clinch but Heads moves out of range.
Heads lands a two punch combo.

Heads looks to land a combination but Davies avoids it well.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Davies accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Heads wants to stand and escape but Davies is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Eraser Heads just wasn't active enough.
Heads displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Davies.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Davies closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Heads's guard.

Davies prevents Heads from getting back to his feet.
Davies working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Heads wants to stand but Davies is controlling the position.
Davies stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Heads swivels though and keeps the full guard.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Davies not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Eraser Heads just wasn't active enough.
Heads dives in and grabs Davies's left leg, looking for a takedown. Davies pushes down on Heads's head and hops out.
Heads rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Davies moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Davies counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Davies.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Davies shoots in but no luck this time.
Eraser Heads has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rhys Davies.
Heads stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Heads wants it to stay on the feet.
Heads lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Davies tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Heads defends well and Davies ends up having to push Heads into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

That was a close round but I would say that Eraser Heads will probably get the nod.

Horrible takedown by Davies or perhaps it was just good defense by Heads which made him look bad.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Davies tries to clinch but Heads is having none of it.

Heads shoots in and bounces Davies off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Heads is desperately trying to improve his position but Davies has a good base and remains in mount.

That was a close second round but I would say that Eraser Heads will probably get the nod.

Davies is standing up over Heads. Heads looks to escape but Davies dives into side control.
Heads pushes Davies away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Davies gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Davies decides to stand back up. Davies steps back and let's Heads get back to his feet.
Heads throws a combination. Davies tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Heads misses with the combination.
Heads misses with a wild combination.
Heads throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Davies drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Davies lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Heads down.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Heads dodges the ground and pound from Davies.
Davies in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Davies tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Davies is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Heads has escaped the position, nice work there.

Heads wants to control but Davies postures up.
Rhys Davies has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Eraser Heads is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Heads is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Davies is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

I think Heads has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
