The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tate avoids the head kick by Sackett.
Tate fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Sackett is out of range.
A slapping leg kick lands for Tate.
Tate has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Sackett is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Tate changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Tate throws a low kick but Sackett moves out of range easily.

Tate tries to score with a low kick but Sackett moves his leg out of the way.

Tate is looking to slow Sackett down with leg kicks.

Tate tries to land a leg kick but Sackett saw it coming and moves away.
Tate tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sackett paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Sackett moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

A low kick from Tate is predictable there
and Sackett counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Sackett lands with a thumping leg kick.
Sackett misses with a wild combination.
Sackett walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Tate checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Tate bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Tate wants to control but Sackett is keeping him busy.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The strikes coming from Tate are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Sackett is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Tate thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sackett's head.
Tate throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tate lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Tate missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Sackett knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tate on the ground.
Tate thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Tate throwing shots but Sackett is blocking nicely.
Tate is looking to take a break and control but Sackett is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Tate is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Sackett sees it coming and defends easily.
Tate is trying to control. Sackett wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Sackett is positioning himself well to prevent Tate advancing to mount.
Tate passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Sackett!
Sackett on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Sackett tries to get out of the position.

Tate goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Sackett turns into him and now he's in Tate's guard.

Sackett is sitting in close to Tate's body. Tate has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Sackett is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Sackett is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Tate.
