The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ballswick's jab looks to have found its range, popping Papi under the eye.
Ballswick is looking to slow Papi down with leg kicks.
Papi throws a hook but Ballswick avoids it easily.
Papi throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Papi takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Papi avoids the body shot from Ballswick.
We've been hearing reports that Papi has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Papi misses the shot to the body.
Ballswick cracks a nice hook into Papi's ribs.
Papi does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Papi fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Ballswick checks it well.
Papi avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Ballswick misses with a straight right.

Papi looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Papi has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Ballswick is desperately trying to improve his position but Papi has a good base and remains in mount.
Papi postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Ballswick looks a forlorn figure.
Ballswick is bucking up trying to escape but Papi cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Ballswick is rocked!
Papi cracks Ballswick with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

During a confident post fight interview, Milo Papi thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
