The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Johnson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Alapic tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Johnson is in Alapic's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Johnson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Johnson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Johnson tries to free his leg and advance position but Alapic is retaining full guard.
Johnson wanted to stand there but Alapic had control of the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. George Johnson was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Johnson instigates a clinch.
Alapic stalling in the clinch but Johnson improves position.
Alapic scores with a shoulder strike.
Alapic tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Johnson smiles and moves away.

Johnson rushes Alapic and presses him up against the cage.

Alapic looking to sit in guard and control but Johnson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Alapic really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Alapic controls Johnson momentarily but Johnson frees himself.
Alapic can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Johnson controls the pace.
Johnson advances to half guard.
Johnson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Johnson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Johnson is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Johnson wants to stand up but Alapic has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Alapic wants to control but Johnson is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Johnson is taking a breather. Alapic says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Johnson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Alapic was covering up waiting for the punch and Johnson finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Alapic wants to sweep here but Johnson controlling him for the moment.

Johnson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Alapic is breathing heavily.
Johnson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Johnson landing with the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alapic has momentary wrist control but Johnson slips an elbow through the middle.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Johnson avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Johnson has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Alapic is in real trouble here. Johnson gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Alapic is tapping out! Johnson wins by rear naked choke!
