Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Moscalu Alexandru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nicky Mcgarry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mcgarry has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alexandru throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Mcgarry tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Alexandru is in Mcgarry's guard.

Alexandru stands and steps away. Mcgarry gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Alexandru tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mcgarry sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Alexandru somewhat.
Alexandru looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Alexandru misses with a takedown attempt - Mcgarry sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Alexandru shoots in for a double leg but Mcgarry sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Alexandru fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mcgarry avoids it really well and circles away.

Mcgarry has Alexandru up against the cage in a clinch.
Alexandru is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Mcgarry is pressed up against the cage. Alexandru has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Mcgarry down to the mat. Mcgarry avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

The fight stays on the outside here - Alexandru looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Mcgarry moves into range and clinches up with Alexandru.
Alexandru tries to stall but Mcgarry uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Alexandru tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Alexandru misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Alexandru shoots in but Mcgarry avoids the takedown attempt easily.

We've been informed that Mcgarry has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Mcgarry's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Mcgarry checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Mcgarry moves into the clinch successfully.
Alexandru jumps guard but Mcgarry stands there with Alexandru around his waist. Alexandru gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Mcgarry would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mcgarry wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Alexandru's closed guard. He's half up but Alexandru has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Alexandru pivots and extends the arm, Mcgarry falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Alexandru! Well done that man!
