The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hirvonen throws a combination that misses
and Almeida counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hirvonen won't be happy with that.
Almeida is trying to get an arm triangle but Hirvonen is defending well.
Almeida is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hirvonen is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Hirvonen wants to get back to his feet but Almeida drags him back down.
Almeida has hold of Hirvonen's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Hirvonen tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Almeida cranks the arm and Hirvonen screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Hirvonen, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
