Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Tenorio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Brooks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tenorio comes into the arena with Kansas - Carry On Wayward Son blaring out of the sound system. Brooks has chosen ZAO - the psalm of the city of the dead. as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The key to victory for Carlos Tenorio has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tenorio lands with a nice combination. Brooks backs away looking to recover.
Tenorio misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Brooks shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Carlos Tenorio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tenorio will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Tenorio can't keep his opponent in guard - Brooks advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Brooks is pressing down on Tenorio's thigh, looking to free his foot. Tenorio is holding on for now.
Brooks working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Brooks throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Brooks is looking for a kimura but Tenorio is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Brooks to get the leverage.
Tenorio wants to stand back up but Brooks manages to pass into side control.
Brooks lands an elbow.

Brooks tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Brooks has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Tenorio is pushing Brooks's head away, looking to escape. Brooks manages to hold on to the position though.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Tenorio takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Brooks scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Tenorio to see if he's OK.

Oh Tenorio is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Brooks postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Tenorio looks a forlorn figure.

Brooks has hold of Tenorio's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Tenorio manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Carlos Tenorio will probably get the nod.
