Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Herschel Ellis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dregen Doe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Herschel Ellis has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Herschel Ellis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dregen Doe!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doe swats away the attempt to clinch by Ellis.
Doe looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Doe closes the distance and pushes Ellis back into the cage.
Doe prevents Ellis from breaking the clinch.
Doe is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Ellis wants to stall.
Ellis gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Doe.
Doe is working for takedown but Ellis is calmly controlling the position for now.
Herschel Ellis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dregen Doe.
Doe with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Ellis has Doe pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Doe manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Doe's coach down at Tokyo Totally Gym + Sauna was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Doe's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Ellis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Doe's waist but Doe gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ellis off to one side.
Doe shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ellis as he jumps to the side.
Doe fails with the takedown.
Ellis swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Doe.
Ellis tries for a takedown but Doe sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Ellis fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Doe gets a double leg takedown into Ellis's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Ellis keeping moving, preventing Doe from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ellis will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Doe throws a big elbow that misses.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Doe trying to control but Ellis is working from the bottom.
Doe throwing strikes from guard but Ellis blocks nicely.
Doe has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Doe looking to sit in guard and control but Ellis gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Ellis fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Doe sprawls well initially but Ellis persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Ellis seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Doe is trying to maintain the position but Ellis is very close to passing his half guard.
Doe wants to improve his position but Ellis is controlling well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ellis wants to work for an arm triangle but Doe is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Doe has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ellis is working away from the top position though.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Ellis tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Doe paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Ellis throws a head kick but Doe moves out of range.
Doe fails with a takedown attempt.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Ellis.
Doe tries for a takedown but Ellis sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Doe leaves Ellis with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Ellis shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Doe as he jumps to the side.
Doe shoots for a double leg takedown but Ellis sprawls well. He's pushed Doe's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ellis tries to land a front kick but Doe steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Ellis lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Ellis.

Ellis avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Doe.

Doe works his foot free and advances to mount.
Ellis is squirming around, avoiding Doe's attempts to control the action.

Ellis is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Doe can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ellis is looking to escape.
Doe lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Doe throwing strikes but Ellis bucks up and reverses the position. He's now in guard on top.

Ellis shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Doe shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ellis pinned against the cage. Ellis gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Ellis lands a jab-cross combination.

Doe looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Doe is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Ellis sees it coming and defends easily.
Doe scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Doe seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ellis does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Well, if Doe is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ellis is trying to stand.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Doe wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ellis keeps working.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dregen Doe showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Ellis trying to hold on to Doe's head to control him but Doe postures up.

Ellis manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Doe keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Ellis tries to land knees in the clinch but Doe avoids the damage to the body.
Doe prevents a takedown attempt there.
Doe is trying to drag Ellis to the mat but Ellis just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Doe prevents Ellis from breaking the clinch.
Doe is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Doe tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Ellis just stands there and leans against the cage.

Doe should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Doe wants to pass the guard but Ellis is keeping the position.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Dregen Doe wasn't active enough on the ground.
Ellis throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Ellis throws out a leg kick but Doe moves out of range and Ellis only half commits.
Ellis is looking to clinch but Doe is avoiding it.
Horrible takedown by Doe or perhaps it was just good defense by Ellis which made him look bad.
Dregen Doe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice takedown defense from Doe. No joy for Ellis on that attempt.

Ellis gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Doe to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Dregen Doe comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Doe winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
