Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Richie Hodges!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Horse Imperial!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Tarja Halkonen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hodges avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Imperial changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hodges tries to avoid it but Imperial manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hodges to the ground. Hodges escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
No luck for Hodges with that takedown attempt.
Imperial throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Imperial shoots in for a double leg but Hodges sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Imperial tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Imperial fails with a takedown attempt.
Richie Hodges has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Horse Imperial.

Hodges blocks a head kick by Imperial.

Hodges closes the distance and clinches up with Imperial, looking for a takedown. Hodges pushes Imperial against the cage but Imperial circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Imperial tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hodges sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Imperial somewhat.

Imperial looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Hodges throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Imperial tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hodges is in Imperial's guard.
Hodges will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hodges shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hodges showed some decent athleticism there.
Imperial is staying active underneath Hodges, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Hodges passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Imperial!
