Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jimmie Kelley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Georg Pichler!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Daniel Bishop and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pichler shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kelley's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Pichler trying to control the position from guard on top but Kelley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kelley is adopting a defensive guard.
Kelley has a closed guard, preventing Pichler from standing up.

Kelley pushes Pichler off and gets back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Pichler throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Kelley tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Pichler is in Kelley's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kelley is looking to stand up but Pichler isn't so interested in that idea.
Pichler tries to free his leg and advance position but Kelley is retaining full guard.
Pichler throws a strike but Kelley rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Pichler is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Georg Pichler was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Pichler shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kelley is trying to defend but Pichler finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Kelley keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Pichler wants to control but Kelley is keeping him busy.
Pichler throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Pichler is stalling here. Kelley is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Pichler seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Kelley has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Pichler tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kelley wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Pichler looks to move to half guard but instead Kelley has passed into mount! Damn!
Kelley has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Pichler's face.
Pichler is looking to improve his position but Kelley isn't that keen on the idea.
Kelley lands a big elbow.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kelley has hold of Pichler's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Pichler manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Pichler is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Georg Pichler will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Kelley shoots in for a takedown but Pichler shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Pichler shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kelley manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Pichler controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Georg Pichler was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Kelley darts in looking for a takedown but Pichler gets double underhooks and turns Kelley into the cage.

Pichler manages to pull guard.
Pichler seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Pichler really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kelley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Pichler's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Kelley postures up in Pichler's guard and throws a big left but Pichler blocks it.
Pichler controls Kelley momentarily but Kelley frees himself.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Georg Pichler hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Kelley shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Pichler wants to stand up but Kelley is controlling him.
Kelley throwing strikes but missing.

Pichler is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kelley is controlling him.
Kelley postures up in Pichler's guard and throws a big left but Pichler blocks it.
Kelley scoring with punches to the head and body.
Pichler preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kelley accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Pichler. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pichler seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Georg Pichler was stalling too much, according to the referee.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kelley.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimmie Kelley. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kelley is trying hard to land a takedown here. Pichler sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Pichler scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Georg Pichler showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Pichler closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Pichler stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Kelley avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Kelley shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Pichler has Kelley pulled in close to control his posture.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Kelley's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Pichler working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kelley doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kelley manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Pichler is looking to sweep but instead, Kelley has passed into half guard.
Pichler takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Kelley has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Pichler defend it? Kelley steps over the head and cranks it - Pichler is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Kelley!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jimmie Kelley!
