Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ray Maynard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Lytle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Sosuke Kotani and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maynard fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lytle sprawls well initially but Maynard persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Lytle looking for submissions off his back.
Maynard moves nicely into side control.
Lytle is looking for a sweep.
Maynard swings around for an armbar but Lytle sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Maynard's guard.
Lytle wants to stand but Maynard has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lytle loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Maynard isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Lytle stacks Maynard on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Lytle!

and Maynard counters with a single leg into guard. Lytle didn't expect that.
Lytle can't keep his opponent in guard - Maynard advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Maynard uses his free foot to push down on Lytle's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Lytle.

Maynard is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Lytle can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
