Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Diego Nunes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and DeMario Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nunes throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Williams thows a left - swing and a miss!
Nunes uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Williams.
Nunes throws a half hearted mid kick.
Nunes lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Nunes throws the kick towards the body but Williams avoids it.
Williams lands an overhand right.
Williams lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Nunes circles away quickly and effectively.
Nunes misses with a two punch combination.
Nunes steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Williams.
Diego Nunes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nunes pulls out of a head kick attempt.
The fighters circling - Williams throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

We've been hearing reports that Nunes has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Nunes is trying to break the clinch but Williams is controlling him.
Williams digs a right hand into Nunes's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Nunes's gas tank.

Nunes has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Williams is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Williams is leaning against Nunes and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Nunes has Williams pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Williams manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Williams has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. So far he's outscoring his opponent in the clinch so it seems to have been worthwhile.

Williams lands a shoulder strike.
Oh Nunes is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Still in the clinch, Williams scores with a nice short uppercut.

Williams has Nunes pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Williams pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Nunes tumbling to the mat - Williams dives into Nunes's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Williams content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Williams lands a couple of digs.
Williams controlling from the top position.
Williams makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Williams seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Nunes pushes Williams off and gets back to his feet.
Nice jab there from Williams.
Williams fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Nunes on the side of the head.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Nunes throws a nice looking combination but Williams bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Williams takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Williams shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Williams showed some decent athleticism there.
Nunes has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Williams is working away from the top position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

DeMario Williams dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!

Nunes walks straight into a right hand from Williams - that's dropped him! Williams jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Nunes from any more punishment! Nunes complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
