The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Colin Fotheringham and James Ackerman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomes with a jab.

It looks like Havas Mitautas has been cut.
Gomes checks the leg kick.
Mitautas tries a head kick but it misses.
Gomes smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Mitautas stuffs the takedown attempt from Gomes. Gomes gets slowly back to his feet.
Gomes connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Mitautas will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Gomes has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Gomes shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Gomes was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Gomes has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Mitautas is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Gomes yanks on the arm and Mitautas is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Gomes.
