Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between George Adkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, George Pierre!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Donald Grub and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pierre keeps the fight on the outside.
Pierre throws a sloppy head kick and Adkins moves out of range easily.
Adkins takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Adkins closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Pierre did well to prevent Adkins getting side control.

Pierre is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Pierre is looking to control Adkins's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Pierre avoid being mounted?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pierre can do anything to dispel that myth.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. George Pierre wasn't active enough on the ground.

Adkins moves into the clinch.
A nice left hand lands by Adkins.
Adkins is working Pierre over against the cage.
Pierre wants to take the fight to the mat but Adkins manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Adkins breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Pierre counters by clinching up.
A right handed body shot lands from Adkins.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Adkins manages to break the clinch.
Adkins throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pierre's waist but Pierre gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Adkins off to one side.

Pierre throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Adkins tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Pierre is in Adkins's guard.

Adkins wants to stand and escape but Pierre is having none of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by George Pierre.

Pierre closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Adkins did well to prevent Pierre getting side control.

Adkins changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pierre tries to avoid it but Adkins manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pierre to the ground. Pierre escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pierre goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Pierre dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

and Pierre counters with a nice double leg into side control. Adkins won't be happy with that.

Pierre can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Adkins is looking to escape.
Pierre lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Pierre is landing with some decent strikes but Adkins is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The referee warns Adkins that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Pierre can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Adkins is looking to escape.

George Pierre showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Pierre looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Adkins with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
