The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Orton tries to sprawl but Maeda drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Orton is staying active underneath Maeda, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Orton is looking to control Maeda's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Orton avoid being mounted?
Orton preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Orton is refusing to be controlled, as Maeda sits in half guard.
Orton should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Maeda wants to control from the top but Orton keeps moving.

Orton isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Maeda stacks Orton on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Maeda!
Maeda wants to control but Orton is keeping him busy.
Orton is looking to regain half guard here but Maeda keeps moving and retains side control.

Maeda has hold of Orton's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Orton tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Maeda cranks the arm and Orton screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Orton, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
