Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dice Slice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sven Son (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Son with that takedown attempt.
Son thows a body shot but no joy.
Slice looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Son shoots in but Slice avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Son moves into the clinch.
Slice misses with a punch on the inside.
Son tries to pull guard but Slice won't allow it.
Dice Slice has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sven Son.
Son tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Slice just stands there and leans against the cage.
Slice wants to break free but Son has control.
Slice can't find room to land a body shot as Son controls the action.
Slice controlling the action here for a moment.

Son's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Son throws a leg kick

and Slice counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Son can do anything to dispel that myth.
Slice prevents Son from standing back up.
Son wants to control but Slice is keeping busy.
Slice seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Son is trying to get back to full guard.
Son controlling the position well.
Slice is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Son is looking to control Slice's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Son avoid being mounted?
Slice thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Son's head.

Son blocking the ground and pound attempt from Slice.
Son tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Slice has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Son is just holding on here. Slice manages to take his back.
Slice keeps control of the position as Son tries to break free.
A lull in the action here.
Son really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Slice. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Slice throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage.
Son holding both Slice 's hands and preventing any damage.
Slice scores with punches and elbows.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Son looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Son is really stuck here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dice Slice dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Slice shoots in for a takedown but Son shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Slice clinches up against the cage.

Slice's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Son closes the distance and clinches up with Slice, looking for a takedown. Son pushes Slice against the cage but Slice circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Son fails with the takedown.
Slice wants to clinch

Slice blocks an uppercut.
Son throws a punch but it's blocked by Slice.
Son stalling the fight.
Slice can't get the takedown.
Son tries to pull guard but Slice won't allow it.

Slice is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Son is keeping busy.

Son escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Slice tries to keep at a distance but Son has taken the fight into the clinch.
Slice is pressed up against the cage. Son has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Slice down to the mat. Slice avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Dice Slice is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Slice moves in looking to clinch but Son pushes him off.
Slice fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Slice clinches up with Son and pushes him back against the cage.

Slice tries to pull guard but Son holds him up against the cage and eventually Slice drops back down to his feet.
The referee is keeping an eye on Son - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

A frustrated look appears on Slice's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Slice wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Son has him pressed against the cage.
Slice is pressed up against the cage. Son has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Slice down to the mat. Slice avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Son is defended easily by Slice.
Son blocks a head kick by Slice.
Son tries to clinch but Slice moves out of range.
Slice defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Son.
Slice swings for the body but Son moves out of range.
Son shoots in and drives through. Slice sprawls well.

Son fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Son is breathing heavily.
Slice moves in looking to clinch but Son pushes him off.
Son swings for the body but Slice moves out of range.
Slice shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Son defends it nicely.
Slice moves out of range of the body kick from Son.
Slice tries for a takedown but Son sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
No luck for Son with that takedown attempt.
Slice pulls out of a head kick attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Sven Son will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Slice's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Slice fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Son manages to avoid it.
Son throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Son throws a nice looking combination but Slice bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
No luck for Son with that takedown attempt.
Son looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Son tries to close the distance and clinch but Slice swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Son drives through with a takedown into guard.
Slice is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Slice wants to stand but Son is controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Son takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Slice is on top in guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Slice trying to stand up but can't free himself from Son's guard.

Son has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Slice can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Slice in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Slice slips nicely into half guard.
Slice is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Son is not content to let Slice control the position.

Son with the active half guard here but Slice passes nicely into side control.
Slice has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Slice looking to control but Son is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Slice is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Slice swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Son closes the distance and pushes Slice back into the cage.
Son is trying to pull guard but Slice has him pressed against the cage.
Dice Slice has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sven Son.

Slice jumps into guard, dragging Son to the mat.
Son wants to control from the top but Slice keeps moving.

Son stands up from Slice's guard - Son perhaps looking for a knockout.
Slice fails with the takedown.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Slice stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Slice wants it to stay on the feet.

Son clinches with his opponent.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Son as Slice tries to tie him up.
Slice tries to break free but Son pushes him back against the cage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Slice is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Son to keep the fight standing.
Slice is looking to take this one to the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Son drags the fight down to the ground.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dice Slice.
I think Slice has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
