The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Visnevskis on the wrong end of a kick to the body.

Visnevskis takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Visnevskis misses with a straight right.
Brookins lands with a thumping leg kick.
We've been told by Visnevskis's head coaches at Evolution Fight Team that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Brookins lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Visnevskis on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Brookins drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Visnevskis avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Brookins.
Brookins cracks Visnevskis with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Brookins fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Brookins misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Visnevskis is looking to reverse the position.

Brookins working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Visnevskis looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Brookins! Submission of the night perhaps?
