Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ricky George!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ron Wood!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wood shoots in and gets a takedown into George's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Wood is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Wood cracks George with a solid left hand.

Wood stands and steps away. George gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Wood has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by George.

Wood throws out a loose jab but George uses good head movement to avoid it.
George lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
George lands a jab to the nose.
George tries to close the distance and clinch up but Wood swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Wood fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging George to the ground. Wood is now in George's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wood stands up and waves to George to follow him.
George fails with an attempt to clinch.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Wood bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Wood walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. George checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

George has closed the distance and engaged Wood in a clinch.

Wood jumps guard and drags George to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ricky George will probably get the nod.
That's time! George's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


George connects with a good right hand that stumbles Wood. Wood circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Wood throws a head kick that misses
and George counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

George forces Wood back against the cage and clinches.

Oh George is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

George seems to have got his legs back now.
Nice sprawl there from George as Wood shoots in.

Wood darts in looking for a takedown but George gets double underhooks and turns Wood into the cage.

George's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ricky George will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Oooooh!!! George has knocked Wood down with a huge combo! George steps away and waves a wobbly Wood back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

George is in trouble now - Wood has advanced to mount!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ricky George is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ricky George.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for George, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
