PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Scott Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stone Cold (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cold has chosen Stone Cold Steve Austin Theme as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Scott Black looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Black takes the fight into the clinch.
Cold misses with a body punch.
Black gets underhooks to prevent Cold's takedown attempt.

Black has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Cold uses from the top position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Black holds on and takes a little breather.
Black throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Black has his hands on Cold's head, controlling the position.

Black working for a triangle but Cold defends it easily.
Cold looking to sit in guard and control but Black gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Black has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Cold had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Black defends it easily.

Black has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Cold is proving hard to escape from.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Scott Black wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Black tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Black misses with a series of wild punches.

Cold tries to close the distance and clinch up but Black swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Cold is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Cold throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Black tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Cold manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Cold lands a slapping body shot.
Cold tries to clinch up.
Cold shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Black as he jumps to the side.
Scott Black has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stone Cold.

Black has taken the fight to the clinch.
Cold is looking to take this one to the mat.

Black wants the takedown. Cold is fighting it off but Black persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Cold's guard against the cage.

Black drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cold manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Black has Cold in his guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Black wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Cold advances position into side control!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Black is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Black throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Cold working away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Scott Black dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Black lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cold circles away quickly and effectively.
Cold misses with a double jab.

Black shoots in and gets a takedown into Cold's guard.

Black has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Cold to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Black is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Cold pulls down on the head and he's put Black to sleep! This one is all over!
