Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Austin Anderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 16 - 0, fighting out of New York, Katsuji Rikidozan!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Russell Pearce and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rikidozan throws out a leg kick but Anderson moves out of range and Rikidozan only half commits.
Rikidozan misses with a leg kick
and Anderson counters with a left to the body.
Katsuji Rikidozan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rikidozan's jab looks to have found its range, popping Anderson under the eye.

Rikidozan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Anderson closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Rikidozan's guard.
Anderson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Anderson throws an elbow that misses. Rikidozan uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Anderson's guard. Nice move by Rikidozan!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Rikidozan throws a lazy right hand but Anderson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Rikidozan connects with a solid leg kick.
Rikidozan takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Rikidozan pivots, looking for a leg kick but Anderson is out of range and Rikidozan settles back down.

Anderson tries to score with a low kick but Rikidozan moves his leg out of the way.
Anderson lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Rikidozan backs up against the cage.
Anderson lands a nice looking body shot.
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rikidozan misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rikidozan fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Anderson checks it well.
Rikidozan moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Katsuji Rikidozan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
A jab from Rikidozan finds it's way through Anderson's defenses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Austin Anderson will probably get the nod.

Anderson throws an elbow that misses. Rikidozan uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Anderson's guard. Nice move by Rikidozan!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Anderson shoots in and drives through. Rikidozan sprawls well.
Rikidozan throws a series of punches but Anderson moves out of range.
Anderson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

and Rikidozan counters with a low kick, right behind Anderson 's knee.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Austin Anderson will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Anderson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Anderson creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Rikidozan sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Anderson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Rikidozan is just riding it out for now. Anderson eventually gives up the hold.

Anderson is pressing down on Rikidozan's thigh, looking to free his foot. Rikidozan is holding on for now.
Anderson takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Anderson is trying to control. Rikidozan wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Katsuji Rikidozan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Rikidozan wants to get back to full guard.
Anderson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Rikidozan tries to roll over but Anderson keeps him under control.
Anderson stalling away here and it's allowed Rikidozan to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Anderson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rikidozan on the ground.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rikidozan throws a wild left hand from mount and Anderson manages to wriggle his way back to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Austin Anderson showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Anderson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
