Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between David McCain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nobero Shimasaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David McCain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nobero Shimasaki!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shimasaki connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between McCain's hands.
McCain looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Shimasaki moves into the clinch successfully.
Shimasaki looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Shimasaki breaks the clinch.
McCain goes for a double leg but Shimasaki avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Shimasaki continues to drive forward.
McCain takes a knee right on the jaw!


It looks like David McCain has been cut.
A right hand to the body from Shimasaki.
Shimasaki lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Shimasaki lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

Shimasaki successfully pulls guard.

Shimasaki is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. McCain is aware though and is defending well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Shimasaki struggles to land a body shot inside as McCain controls his hands.
Shimasaki wants a takedown but no success here.

Shimasaki pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Shimasaki lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
McCain shoots in but Shimasaki avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Shimasaki shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has McCain pinned against the cage. McCain gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from McCain is defended easily by Shimasaki.
Shimasaki tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. McCain manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
McCain misses with the combination.
Shimasaki throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck McCain on the side of the head.

Excellent takedown into side control there by McCain.
Shimasaki manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Shimasaki is looking to take a break and control but McCain is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Shimasaki is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. McCain doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Shimasaki.

McCain pushes Shimasaki off looking to stand but Shimasaki dives back in and keeps control.
McCain is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Shimasaki is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so McCain is just riding it out for now. Shimasaki eventually gives up the hold.
McCain tries to roll over but Shimasaki keeps him under control.
McCain knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shimasaki on the ground.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Shimasaki moves in looking to clinch but McCain pushes him off.
Shimasaki lands a jab.
Nobero Shimasaki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McCain tries to close the distance and clinch up but Shimasaki swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Shimasaki shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. McCain eats them both and turns towards Shimasaki to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

McCain tries for a takedown but Shimasaki sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

David McCain is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Shimasaki lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Shimasaki is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
McCain misses with a low kick.
McCain on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

McCain tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Shimasaki manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Shimasaki lands with a slapping head kick.
Shimasaki swats away the attempt to clinch by McCain.
Shimasaki tries to close the distance and clinch but McCain swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
McCain looks to score with a jab to the body but Shimasaki is just out of range.

David McCain's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

McCain controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Shimasaki has his feet on McCain's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Shimasaki doesn't manage to clinch there - McCain circles away.
McCain tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Shimasaki stalks McCain and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into McCain's face. McCain staggers backwards, shaken.

Shimasaki tries to clinch but McCain is having none of it.
Shimasaki connects with a high kick.


Jeez, David McCain's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

Shimasaki feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to McCain's calf.
McCain looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Shimasaki is fending him off so far but McCain persists. Nope, Shimasaki circles away and we're back to standing.
A nice inside leg kick there by Shimasaki. That's going to slow McCain down.

Nobero Shimasaki seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Shimasaki works over McCain's head and body with a nice combination.
Shimasaki moves in looking to clinch but McCain pushes him off.

McCain's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Shimasaki connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! McCain scrambles back to his feet.
McCain leaves Shimasaki with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Shimasaki makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

McCain misses with a takedown attempt - Shimasaki sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Shimasaki's corner calls for a 1-2. Shimasaki obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
McCain is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
McCain wants to clinch up but Shimasaki keeps it at a distance.

Shimasaki fails with a takedown attempt.

Shimasaki gets caught flat footed, as McCain shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Nobero Shimasaki comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Shimasaki has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
