The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buhay fails to land the takedown.
Bariga swings for the body but Buhay moves out of range.
Bariga throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Buhay gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Bariga counters with a stiff right hand.
Buhay goes for a double leg but Bariga avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Bariga continues to drive forward.
Buhay has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bagong Buhay. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bariga's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Buhay looks to score with a jab to the body but Bariga is just out of range.
Buhay shoots and misses
and Bariga counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Bariga throws a hook to the side of Buhay's head but Buhay sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Bariga, as that shot connected.
Buhay throws a body punch but Bariga moves out of range.
A swing and a miss from Bariga.
Buhay gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Bariga lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Buhay is rocked!
Bariga looks to throw the jab but Buhay is out of range.
Oh Buhay is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bagong Buhay seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bariga slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Buhay with a poor takedown
and Bariga counters with a crisp right hand that drops Buhay! Bariga lets Buhay back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Bariga loads up on a big right hand but Buhay slips the punch.

Buhay misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Buhay seems to have got his legs back now.

Buhay doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Bariga counters with a nice right hand that sends Buhay toppling to the canvas! Buhay scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Bariga finish him?!
