Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nino Balducci (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Rio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nino Balducci!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt Rio!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Jonathan Paton and Bruno Lombardi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Balducci shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rio's guard.

Rio working for a triangle but Balducci defends it easily.

Rio escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Balducci gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Rio is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Balducci is trying to get back to full guard.
Balducci is trying to control but can't.
Balducci moves into full guard.

Rio has gone for a leg lock! Balducci slips out almost immediately though and dives into Rio's guard.
Balducci trying to control the position from guard on top but Rio is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rio tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Balducci knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rio on the ground.

Balducci decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Rio shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Balducci counters with a one-two to the body.
Rio slips a jab and a cross from Balducci.
Rio avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Rio has his takedown stuffed

and Balducci counters with a big slam. Rio looks out but Balducci is landing strikes to his unconscious opponent! Eventually the ref steps in to save Rio from any more punishment. A brutal conclusion to the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Slam). Nino Balducci!
