Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chang Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Mercy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Don Mercy has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Chang Jenkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Don Mercy!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Roosa Järviläinen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jenkins avoids the head kick by Mercy.

Jenkins instigates a clinch.

Jenkins breaks the clinch.

Jenkins forces Mercy back against the cage and clinches.

Jenkins turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Mercy prevents Jenkins from moving into mount.

Jenkins decides to stand up, so the ref orders Mercy to his feet.
Mercy fails in his attempt to clinch.
Mercy shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jenkins pinned against the cage. Jenkins gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Mercy throws a right and a left that Jenkins avoids nicely.
Mercy throws a sloppy head kick and Jenkins moves out of range easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jenkins throws a head kick but Mercy moves out of range.
Jenkins really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Mercy fails in his attempt to clinch.

Jenkins forces Mercy back against the cage and clinches.

Jenkins is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Mercy can't fight it off and eventually Jenkins manages to take the fight to the floor. Mercy looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Jenkins gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Mercy doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Jenkins counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Jenkins.

Jenkins turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Jenkins is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mercy has escaped the position, nice work there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jenkins stands up.
Mercy tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jenkins was well out of range. Poor timing from Mercy.
Mercy shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Jenkins decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Mercy's guard.
Chang Jenkins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Don Mercy.

Jenkins stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Mercy looks winded!

Jenkins rushes Mercy and presses him up against the cage.
Mercy tries to pull guard but Jenkins holds him up against the cage and eventually Mercy drops back down to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Jenkins jumps guard.
Mercy is fighting to break Jenkins's control of his arms but Jenkins is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Jenkins manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Jenkins instigates a clinch.

Jenkins pulls Mercy into guard.
Jenkins controlling the position.
Mercy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jenkins. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mercy wants to stand and escape but instead Jenkins has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Jenkins gets to his feet - Mercy follows without any prompting.

Jenkins closes the distance and clinches.

Jenkins decides to pull guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jenkins is on top in guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Jenkins's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Jenkins content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chang Jenkins dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Jenkins clinches up with Mercy and pushes him back against the cage.

Jenkins breaks the clinch.

Jenkins decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Jenkins working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Jenkins stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Mercy wants to clinch but Jenkins slips to the side

and Jenkins counters by clinching up.

Jenkins pulls Mercy into guard.

Jenkins is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Mercy presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mercy is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Jenkins is keeping busy.
Mercy jumps guard but Jenkins turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Mercy is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Jenkins jumps guard and drags Mercy to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Jenkins is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Jenkins gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Jenkins gets to his feet - Mercy follows without any prompting.

Jenkins closes the distance and clinches.

Jenkins wants the takedown. Mercy is fighting it off but Jenkins persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Mercy's guard against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Jenkins decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Mercy, up you get!

Jenkins dives in and scores a takedown into Mercy's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mercy wants to sweep but no luck.
Chang Jenkins overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Jenkins stands and steps away. Mercy gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Jenkins forces Mercy back against the cage and clinches.

Jenkins drags the fight down to the ground.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jenkins is on top in guard.
Jenkins will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Jenkins drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Jenkins seems to have locked his on tight now - Mercy screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Jenkins, as he picks up the win!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Chang Jenkins!
