The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanguin throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Betty was covering up waiting for the punch and Sanguin finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Betty has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Island Conditioning. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Sanguin trying to control but Betty is working from the bottom.
Sanguin throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Betty works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Sanguin trying to control the position from guard on top but Betty is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Stirling Sanguin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice combo by Sanguin! Oh, that's hurt him - Betty falls to the canvas and Sanguin follows him into side control.

Sanguin scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Betty is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Sanguin can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
