PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nate MacRally (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Tyson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). MacRally kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Red Rider - Lunatic Fringe. Tyson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: It's dark and hell is hot - DMX. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 23 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Nate MacRally!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Tyson!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Russell Pearce and John Roberts.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
MacRally falls off balance throwing a combination
and Tyson counters with an outside leg kick.
MacRally takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
MacRally misses with an uppercut. Tyson saw that one coming.
MacRally throws a series of punches but Tyson moves out of range.
Tyson fails with an attempt to clinch.

MacRally shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Tyson napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Tyson is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
MacRally remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
MacRally is trying to ground and pound but Tyson uses the momentary lack of control by MacRally to regain half guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Nate MacRally.
MacRally fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Tyson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Tyson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from MacRally.
Tyson stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from MacRally.
Tyson fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and MacRally has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
MacRally swats away the attempt to clinch by Tyson.

MacRally feints and as Tyson raises his hands in defense, MacRally changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
MacRally tries to free his leg and advance position but Tyson is retaining full guard.
MacRally postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Tyson walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. MacRally checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Tyson is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

MacRally turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and MacRally manages to end up in side control.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
MacRally sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

A nice inside leg kick there by Tyson. That's going to slow MacRally down.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
MacRally postures up in Tyson's guard and throws a big left but Tyson blocks it.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Tyson clobbers MacRally with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Tyson, right into the meat.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

MacRally shoots for a double leg takedown but Tyson sprawls well. He's pushed MacRally's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Tyson dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on MacRally. That did some damage!
Tyson turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
MacRally's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Tyson connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! MacRally scrambles back to his feet.
