Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Josip Bilke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jody Kowalchuk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jody Kowalchuk!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bilke clinches.
Kowalchuk prevents a takedown attempt there.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Bilke keeping moving, preventing Kowalchuk from controlling successfully.

Bilke escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kowalchuk gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Bilke had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kowalchuk defends it easily.

Bilke is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kowalchuk is aware though and is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jody Kowalchuk hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Kowalchuk wants to land a leg kick but Bilke is out of range.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bilke stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kowalchuk swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kowalchuk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bilke. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Bilke not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Kowalchuk is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Kowalchuk looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Bilke has picked Kowalchuk up and slammed him! Kowalchuk can't keep hold of the triangle and Bilke manages to pass to side control!

Bilke decides to stand up, so the ref orders Kowalchuk to his feet.
Kowalchuk closes the distance and clinches up with Bilke, looking for a takedown. Kowalchuk pushes Bilke against the cage but Bilke circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Bilke dives in and grabs Kowalchuk's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kowalchuk pushes down on Bilke's head and hops out.
Kowalchuk avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Kowalchuk misses with the combination.
Kowalchuk tries to clinch there but Bilke circles away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kowalchuk shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bilke but Bilke pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Kowalchuk slips a nice elbow through Bilke's hands, connecting with Bilke's forehead.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Bilke has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kowalchuk is working away from the top position though.

That was a close second round but I would say that Josip Bilke will probably get the nod.
That's time! Bilke's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!

Kowalchuk is looking to clinch but Bilke is avoiding it.

Bilke shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kowalchuk napping and manages to drive through into side control!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kowalchuk looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
