PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Andre Riberio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miguel Santiago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the ring it seems that Andre Riberio has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Andre Riberio seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Miguel Santiago!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Chris Edwards and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Riberio scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Santiago is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Riberio tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Riberio has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Riberio is not content to let Santiago control the position.

Riberio stops Santiago from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
Riberio slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Santiago in particular looking to stall.

Santiago is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Riberio doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Santiago.
Santiago is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Riberio reverses the position - he's now on top in Santiago's guard.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Santiago is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Santiago is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Riberio defends well.
Riberio will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Santiago working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Riberio doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Riberio manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Santiago is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Riberio rolls with it to try and escape but Santiago cranks on the arm and Riberio is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
