The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Average closes the distance looking to clinch
and Average takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Khaliev takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Average darts in and clinches Khaliev up against the cage.
Average tries a knee to the head but Khaliev blocks it.
Khaliev has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Khaliev wants to break the clinch but can't.
Khaliev is trying to break free.
Average throws a knee to the head but misses.

Average tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Khaliev manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Average pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Khaliev is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Average to keep the fight standing.
Average is trying to maintain a safe position but Khaliev gets an underhook and turns Average into the cage.
Average lands a knee to the head.
A frustrated look appears on Khaliev's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Khaliev jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Average walks away with a smile on his face. Khaliev gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Joe Average has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adam Khaliev.

It looks like Adam Khaliev has been cut.

Average jerks Khaliev's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Khaliev drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Average goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Average because Khaliev was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
