Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Lagk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Gustaffson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nick Lagk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexander Gustaffson!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Sergei Dronov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gustaffson with a poor takedown

and Lagk counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Lagk.
Gustaffson has had enough of the clinch but Lagk keeps him there for the moment.
Gustaffson wants to get back to striking at distance but Lagk won't allow it.
Gustaffson's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Gustaffson tries to break free but Lagk pushes him back against the cage.
Gustaffson missing with knees to the body.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Gustaffson has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Lagk lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Lagk definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
A bit of stalling here from Lagk.
Gustaffson tries to break free but Lagk pushes him back against the cage.
Gustaffson tries to circle away but Lagk has him pinned against the cage.
Lagk throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Gustaffsons head.
Gustaffson doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Lagk displaying some good clinch control by pressing Gustaffson up against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lagk escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Alexander Gustaffson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Lagk drives through and clinches with Gustaffson against the cage.
Come on Lagk - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Lagk.
Knees to the body from Lagk.
Gustaffson tries to break free but Lagk pushes him back against the cage.
Gustaffson is trying to break the clinch but Lagk has him pressed against the cage.

Lagk jumps into guard, dragging Gustaffson to the mat.

Gustaffson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Lagk looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Lagk looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Lagk!
Lagk is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Lagk looks up at the clock and then as Gustaffson takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Lagk smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gustaffson taking a bit of punishment here - Lagk scoring with strikes.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gustaffson is not content to let Lagk control the position.
Lagk content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Lagk is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Gustaffson has escaped the position, nice work there.
Lagk wants to control but Gustaffson is keeping him busy.
Lagk scores with a couple of short elbows.
Lagk trying to control the position but Gustaffson is working away.
Lagk moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Gustaffson is looking to regain half guard here but Lagk keeps moving and retains side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Lagk tries for a kimura but Gustaffson is defending well.
Gustaffson tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Lagk has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Gustaffson can't escape the position.
Lagk lands a heavy elbow.
Lagk tries to control but Gustaffson wriggling away.
Gustaffson is working to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gustaffson sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Gustaffson blocking the ground and pound attempt from Lagk.

Gustaffson is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Lagk is tapping! Great win for Gustaffson!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Alexander Gustaffson!
A very excited looking Alexander Gustaffson rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
